Sankalp has 10 years of experience developing unmanned aerial systems and robotics technology. His work has focused on developing motion planning techniques to enable mobile robots to gather data safely while operating in unstructured environments. He developed safety and sensor planning for the world's first guaranteed safe full-scale autonomous helicopter. A project that won the Howard Hughes Award, AUVSI Xcellence award and was nominated for the Collier Trophy. He is a recipient of the Qualcomm Innovation fellowship and Swartz Innovation fellowship. He has a PhD in Robotics from Carnegie Mellon.
